Zopo Leader Max ZP950H, MediaTek MT6589 Quad-core ARM Cortex-A7

Here is Zopo’s latest flagship smartphone. Sold for 1999rmb ($321) unlocked on the Huaqiangbei Shenzhen electronics market, it features a 5.7″ 1280×720 IPS display, 1GB RAM, 4GB Flash, 2500mAh removable battery, dual-sim HSPA+/GSM and MicroSDHC card support. Zopo provides some software support (according to what MediaTek can support), currently running on Android 4.1.2, it also has a community forum (in Chinese) at their website: http://zopomobile.com

iReadyGo already has the Much i4 on the market with a 5″ 800×480 and Exynos4412 processor, their next generation is to have a 5″ 960×540 and the quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor. They say that they have sold 10 thousand units of the Exynos4412 device at about $250 street price in China.

Using the MediaTek MT6577 1.2Ghz dual-core processor. The Alcatel One Touch Idol Ultra they say is the worlds thinnest smartphone at 6.45mm tichkness, has a 4.7″ Super AMOLED screen, also features Alcatel One Touch Idol X and what they say is the most compact 4″ smartphone in the world. They sold 7 million smartphones in 2012, they are planning to sell 15-20 million smartphones in 2013.

Lenovo announces the Android tablet market has overtaken the iPad market, with 53% worldwide market share for Android and 43% for iPad. Lenovo is the biggest tablet brand in China, with a tight relation to MediaTek, here’s Lenovo’s latest quad-core 7″ 1024×600 IPS tablet.

6 months ago, I bought the $174 Zopo ZP100, at that time one of the first MT6575 single-core ARM Cortex-A9 phone on the market. Since then, it got updated to Android 4.0 ICS, here are some of Zopo’s latest MT6577 dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 phones now being sold on the Chinese market and worldwide wherever Zopo gets exported.

SCT shows DLP pico-projector in MT6577 dual-core phone


Texas Instrument’s pico projector technology is about to reach into my and more smartphones and tablets, here demonstrated by SCT integrated into an MT6577 smartphone. The price of the DLP pico projector module ads about $50 to 60 to the bill of materials of the smartphone. Battery consumption can possibly be decent depending on the brightness of the lumen output, perhaps not using much more power than the backlight of the same phone.
