The Works on Arm cluster is run by Packet for Arm to provide test, development, and data center CI/CD resources for community projects to build on arm64. The project also includes a weekly video office hours, a weekly newsletter, and a channel on the Packet Community Slack and Freenode IRC (#worksonarm) for community discussion.

Daniel Thompson of Linaro talks about the upcoming new ARM Developerbox that was announced at Linaro Connect SFO17. The box is a 24-core ARM Cortex-A53 low-power workstation allowing software development for ARM to be done on ARM. The board is a collaboration between Socionext, Gigabyte and Linaro and is the first 96Boards Enterprise Edition platform to exploit microATX form-factor and feels like a normal PC motherboard, right up to the row of three PCIe slots that are available.

Socionext shows their new SC2A11 ARMv8 server SoC featuring 24 ARM Cortex-A53 cores and their SC2A20 Interconnect bridge. SC2A11 is a highly integrated low-power server system suitable for edge computing which processes data at the edge of the cloud in the IoT era. Large amount of data can be processed faster in memory by adopting the 64bit ARMv8 architecture. Up to 1536 cores can be configured in a system for uses such as web serving, indexing, cloud computing.
