At the core of this technology is the SL1620 processor, optimized for embedded applications requiring robust processing and advanced AI capabilities. It features a quad-core Arm Cortex-A55 CPU subsystem, a high-efficiency GPU for advanced graphics and AI acceleration, and superior audio processing capabilities. The SL1620 supports Linux OS, offers a variety of peripherals, and accommodates dual displays, making it versatile for various IoT applications. citeturn0search0

In collaboration with partners like HAK, Synaptics has integrated the SL1620 with their Wi-Fi chipset to create a modular solution for synchronized audio streaming. This partnership has yielded a toolkit that allows developers to experiment with and implement synchronized audio across multiple Bluetooth LE-enabled devices. The system’s architecture includes a master device that manages synchronization, ensuring that audio playback remains in harmony across all connected speakers.

One of the significant advantages of this setup is its ability to operate independently of Wi-Fi networks. By utilizing Bluetooth LE for audio transmission, the system reduces potential network congestion and interference, providing a more stable and reliable audio streaming experience. This approach also simplifies the setup process, as it eliminates the need for complex network configurations.

The flexibility of the SL1620 SoM allows for various applications, from multi-room audio setups to customized home entertainment systems. Users can place speakers in different rooms, creating a seamless audio experience throughout their living spaces. The system’s scalability means that, theoretically, a large number of speakers can be synchronized, limited primarily by the capabilities of the Bluetooth LE standard and the specific implementation.

For developers and manufacturers, the SL1620 provides a platform to innovate and create new audio products that leverage synchronized Bluetooth LE streaming. Its integration capabilities and support for advanced audio algorithms make it suitable for a wide range of consumer and industrial applications. The module’s design also facilitates easy customization, allowing for tailored solutions that meet specific market needs.

In summary, Synaptics’ SL1620 System on Module represents a significant advancement in synchronized audio streaming technology. By harnessing the power of Bluetooth LE and robust processing capabilities, it offers a versatile and efficient solution for delivering high-quality, synchronized audio across multiple devices without the complexities associated with traditional network-based systems.
