Freescale dominates the e-ink e-reader market. Their next generation i.MX508 e-ink e-reader processor allows for more performance, faster refresh rates (limited by e-ink technology), lower cost (e-ink readers could be sold at half the price, $99 e-ink e-readers are now possible), most cool is Freescale works to provide Android support on these next generation e-ink e-readers. This is cool because Android support can provide cool useful apps such as news readers, rss readers, chrome to phone functionality and more.

Will it be in iPad2? Will it be in Kindle4? Of course she can’t say anything about it, but I really hope so. Was Pixel Qi delayed a bit because of the success of the iPad slowing down potential investments in Netbook screens? How did they manage financing their startup through the economic turmoils of the past couple of years? Pixel Qi introduces a 7″ model that is going to be mass manufactured by CPT after February, after the Chinese new year celebrations. The 10.1″ 16/9 and the 9.7″ 4:3 screens also are due to be mass manufactured soon.

Freescale is powering the Ford Sync system called MyFord Touch, there is an i.MX51 processor in there and Windows CE based user interfaces and features providing in-car system for the Ford cars. This type of ARM Powered solution for the car, voice activated, is becoming a large part of what allows car makers to differentiate their cars in the market.

Check this out. This is the full Windows on ARM platforms developed by Texas Instruments, Qualcomm and Nvidia. Microsoft demonstrates a recompiled version of Microsoft Office for ARM, some other apps, talks about how it will support all the apps on ARM, this is awesome.

I’m not really supposed to try to film this, but here it is. I try to click around in this pre-release Honeycomb Motorola Xoom tablet pre-production prototype instead of only letting it play the animated prepared UI videos from the gallery. Google is doing some awesome work in making software optimized for tablets. Like Archos has been doing it, they decided there’s no need for hardware Android buttons on Tablets. Other aspects of this UI suggests UI design that’s really being designed for high resolution touch screen devices.
