Sharp IGZO LCD TFT Technology

Posted by – September 2, 2012

Sharp is about to release their new IGZO LCD Technology to the market. It allows for lower power consumption, slowing down the screen refresh rates to as little as 1hz, minimizing the required screen bezel, the power consumption can be less than half compared with the previous amorphous silicon based TFT technology. Screen resolution can also more easily be increased to Quad-HD because the TFT is smaller. Will the Kindle Fire 2, iPhone 5 and other upcoming products have the IGZO screen in them? It’s possible. IGZO should be ready to arrive in products starting this year.
