Jeavox Allwinner Powered Smart Car, Smart Mirror and Smart GPS systems

Jeavox integrates Allwinner A10 and Allwinner A20 with Windows CE and Android to create the Chinese Smart Car, with In-Car GPS navigation, using Augmented Reality overlayed in the Car DVR camera system. This video features Jeavox’s R&D design house offices as well as their testing laboratory. Jeavox designs and works on hardware, software, optimizing the design for the Allwinner powered Smart Cars in Shenzhen and then their manufacturing happens in Jeavox’s assembly factory in the Jiangxi province of China.

Ramos Headquarters Tour in Shenzhen


Tour at the Ramos offices in Shenzhen Hi-Tech Park area. Here they have their engineers, sales, marketing and management departments, while their factory is at another part of Shenzhen (at which I may film later). Ramos shows their Exynos5260 Hexacore based tablet, as well as some MediaTek and Intel based tablets.

They sell 80-100K Tablets per month, they’re a spin-off from Sawink with 60 people in their factory. RK3026 9″ and 10.1″ for around $54-60.

Allwinner 64bit ARMv8 Processor announced

Available on the market by the end of the year, Allwinner announces they are putting the final touches to their upcoming ARMv8 64bit Processor. Allwinner announces they are licensing the technology from ARM. Aiming their design at the entry-level to mid-level market, it’s going to have Android L and next-gen Windows support, implementing all the advantages of ARMv8 not just the support for more RAM than 4GB, this includes more CPU registers and much more. GPU, video engines, specifics of the cores used and other features will be announced later. Allwinner expects to be able to show the development board for their ARMv8 64bit processor by Hong Kong fair in October.

Allwinner’s first 64-bit tablet processor to hit the market soon

With the rising requirement for 64-bit application processors, Allwinner Technology today is announcing that its first 64-bit tablet processor should hit the market by end of 2014. A 64-bit development board should also be ready for demo during the Hong Kong Electronics Fair in October.

Allwinner 64bit ARMv8 processor announced

Recently, Linaro announced that the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) build for ARMv8-A architecture has been made available for part of the Linaro 14.06 release. This build has been tested on the ARMv8-A 64-bit hardware development platform “Juno.”

As a member of Linaro organization, the Linaro builds of the AOSP for 64-bit ARMv8-A platform “Juno” and will be a key building block to enable Allwinner to offer a range of differentiated solutions across multiple markets.

Asus Transformer Book 5, $1200 double-Intel “converged” device

Asus shows their $1200 laptop/tablet/phone combination device, with an Intel processor in the Phone (with LTE support) and another Intel processor in the Tablet, with a keyboard dock. They say battery life is fine, we’ll see about that. Price I think is around $1200 or $1300, since they say it costs something like a $1000 laptop + their zenphone. Asus has been showing a lot of Intel devices for many years, but I don’t think they have been selling many.

Goclever INSIGNIA 785 PRO, Windows 8.1 Intel tablet

Goclever shows their latest Intel powered ipad-mini style tablet, the INSIGNIA 785 PRO. The INSIGNIA 785 PRO is powered by a 2.0Ghz dual-core Intel Atom Z2580 CPU, has a 7.85″ 1024 x 768 resolution IPS display and costs 199 euro. The other Goclever Intel tablet introduced in this video is an 10.1″ tablet powered by Intel Processor. The tablet comes with a magnetic detachable origami-style case with keyboard and touchpad.

Pipo shows RK3288 Tablet, 6.4″ FHD MT6592 and more


Pipo P1 is one of the world’s first Rockchip RK3288 Tablets yet shown features Retina, , to be released perhaps as soon as the end of this month. Pipo also shows some Phablet 6.4″ FHD and other large MT6592 devices, PIpo also shows some Intel powered tablet and tablet with Surface-style keyboard.

Cambrios CEO: ClearOhm Silver Nanowires replaces ITO in the touch screen industry

At CES 2014, I interviewed John LeMoncheck, President and CEO of Cambrios, in their suite. Cambrios’ silver nanowire material brand named ClearOhm® is doing extremely well in the market, they are replacing ITO in touch screens. Since the last time I spoke to Cambrios at Ceatec, they have announced more design wins for mobile phones, tablets, AIO and monitors. Cambrios recently announced partnership with 3M and prior to that they had announced a joint venture with TPK (world’s largest touch screen maker) and Nissha. At the suite, they also demonstrated products from Lenovo, 3M, UniDisplay, LG, Karbonn, eTurbotouch, NEC, Nissha and others. They also showed silver nanowire coated film rolls from Hitachi and Okura. Clearly they are winning business in touch, they just announced that they have tripled their manufacturing capacity, their customers like 3M, TPK have a lot of capacity as well. John also mentioned that they are enabling wearable devices, flexible OLED, solar cells and 3D TV.

Toshiba Dynabook Kira

The Toshiba Dynabook Kira was presented at CEATEC. It has most of the basic specs of an ultrabook but with a high resolution 2560×1600 display. Each display is individually color calibrated at the factory itself. The price is a very steep 1600 USD. The Dynabook Kira is the successor the z830 series and features an upgraded more durable design. The benchmarked battery life is 9.5 hours which is about 1.5 times the battery of the previous model.

The 8″ Toshiba Encore uses a 8″ 1280×800 touchscreen and an Intel atom processor. The encore is very similar to the Acer Iconia W3. The Toshiba Encore runs x86 Windows 8 OS with Microsoft office included. The Toshiba encore has dual cameras a 2mp on the front and a 8mp on the back. Storage options include 32gb or 64gb with microsd expansion. The Price should be 299 Euros and other sites mention a price of 329 USD.
