At Infocomm 2026, Inge Hoover presented the latest developments in projection technology from Barco Projectors. Building on a heritage in visual systems dating back to 1934, the company continues its long-term partnership with Texas Instruments to implement digital light processing technology across its portfolio. Information on their complete range of products and technical specifications is available on their website at www.barco.com.

HDMI® Technology is the foundation for the worldwide ecosystem of HDMI-connected devices; integrated with displays, set-top boxes, laptops, audio video receivers and other product types. Because of this global usage, manufacturers, resellers, integrators and consumers must be assured that their HDMI® products work seamlessly together and deliver the best possible performance by sourcing products from licensed HDMI Adopters or authorized resellers. For HDMI Cables, consumers can look for the official HDMI® Cable Certification Labels on packaging. Innovation continues with the latest HDMI 2.2 Specification that supports higher 96Gbps bandwidth and next-gen HDMI Fixed Rate Link technology to provide optimal audio and video for a wide range of device applications. Higher resolutions and refresh rates are supported, including up to 12K@120 and 16K@60. Additionally, more high-quality options are supported, including uncompressed full chroma formats such as 8K@60/4:4:4 and 4K@240/4:4:4 at 10-bit and 12-bit color.

A key highlight of the showcase is the QDX series, including the QDX RGB projector. This unit uses an RGB light source to achieve coverage of the REC 2020 color gamut, delivering high brightness without relying on traditional lamps. Designed for high-output environments, the QDX is built for large-format screens and supports multi-projector configurations, including double, triple, and quadruple stacking to cover expansive projection surfaces.

The optical ecosystem is supported by a comprehensive range of interchangeable lenses designed in-house by Barco Projectors. The lens lineup spans from ultra-short throw options to long zoom lenses, allowing deployment across varying distances. For close-range projection setups, the system utilizes specialized snorkel lenses that enable precise image positioning near the projection surface.

The presentation also detailed the UDM and I-series families. The established UDM model provides 4K resolution and 30,000 lumens of brightness in a compact form factor. Alongside it, the newly released I-65 and the I-600 series utilize single-chip DLP technology to deliver 4K resolution, with the I-65 receiving recognition as a Projector Central Best of Show winner.

For system integration, these projectors support standard input connections including HDMI and USB interfaces. The projection systems are designed to operate in tandem with Barco image processing hardware, including the Encore 2 and Encore 3 platforms, as well as dedicated event controllers to manage complex multi-source and multi-screen configurations.
