The product family includes the Minipai, a 7kg tabletop robot, and the Minipai Plus, which adds two arms and a head to the Minipai base. A larger model, also named Minipai, stands 90cm tall. The core of these robots is a main controller board designed in-house, featuring the Rockchip RK3588 system-on-chip. This provides the necessary computational power for tasks including AI model integration, though the models shown were not running AI during the demonstration.
One of the key features of the robots is their stability, which is managed by a proprietary algorithm. This allows the robot to automatically get back up if it falls over. The robots are designed to be robust and are capable of performing synchronized movements, such as dancing, and participating in activities like robot soccer games. The company has been developing this technology for five years.
Hi Talk Robotics also produces the individual actuators used in their robots. These are planetary-geared actuators designed and manufactured entirely by the company. This vertical integration gives them full control over the robot’s core components, from the joints to the main controller and battery systems. The company collaborates with universities worldwide, including Stanford and Tsinghua, whose teams use the robots for research.
This demonstration was filmed at the Hong Kong Fairs April 2026. The company, a startup with approximately 160 employees, including 60 engineers, is focused on providing a complete hardware and software platform for humanoid robotics research. They have plans to develop a larger, 130cm tall robot in the future, expanding their product line for more advanced applications.
