At Embedded World 2025, Panasonic Industry Europe presented its latest innovations in wireless connectivity, energy harvesting, and sensing technologies, focusing on powering, sensing, and connecting embedded systems. A key highlight was its Matter-compliant module built around Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF54L15 chipset. Designed for smart home applications, this module includes integrated flash memory and supports the PAN-MaX service, which injects Device Attestation Certificates (DAC) during production. This streamlines certification and enhances security, giving manufacturers a fast-track solution for integrating Matter-compliant devices.

Panasonic is also expanding its Wi-Fi 6 portfolio in collaboration with Synaptics, NXP, and Texas Instruments. Their work with Synaptics focuses on integrating high-efficiency Wi-Fi 6 solutions into industrial and IoT devices. While not physically showcased, these Synaptics-powered solutions are key to ensuring future-proof wireless connectivity. Panasonic’s Wi-Fi 6 modules include compact, cost-sensitive 2.4 GHz designs as well as full-featured dual-band solutions, optimized for performance and efficiency, enabling seamless data transmission across smart and industrial applications.

Beyond connectivity, Panasonic demonstrated its energy-harvesting Amorton solar cells, designed to operate even in low-light indoor environments. These ultra-efficient cells extend device lifetimes and reduce reliance on batteries, making them ideal for wearables, sensors, and IoT applications. Panasonic also introduced its next-generation hybrid solar cells, which function indoors and outdoors, offer fully customizable designs, and are already in full-scale production for integration into consumer and industrial products.

Panasonic’s sensor technologies were another highlight, particularly the Grid-Eye thermopile sensor, which provides 64-pixel infrared thermal feedback for people counting, motion detection, and smart automation. This low-power sensor enhances security and energy efficiency in various applications. Alongside this, the company displayed its long-lifetime primary batteries, designed for industrial IoT applications where reliability over a decade or more is crucial.

The company’s broad portfolio of power solutions was on display, emphasizing hybrid energy designs that combine solar harvesting with backup battery power. This ensures uninterrupted operation for mission-critical embedded devices. With decades of expertise in both battery and solar technologies, Panasonic offers highly flexible solutions tailored for IoT and industrial applications.

Panasonic Industry Europe’s participation at Embedded World 2025 showcased its commitment to advancing embedded technology. Through partnerships with companies like Synaptics and Nordic Semiconductor, Panasonic continues to enhance security, connectivity, and efficiency in smart devices. By integrating the latest Matter, Wi-Fi 6, and energy harvesting technologies, Panasonic is shaping the future of industrial automation and embedded systems.
