Pipo is showing the cheapest new Snapdragon 850 based ARM Laptops with a clamshell 13.3″, 14.1″ or 15.4″ version that can start at around $250 for the WiFi-only version requiring a minimum order of 1000 pieces, to about $350 for the 2-in-1 tablet with docking keyboard design that looks like the Huawei MateBook E, that is also for distributors to order at least 1000 pieces in a mass order.

Metz is a Skyworth company since 2014, showing an 8K 120″ LCD made from 1 piece of LCD glass weighing 250kg. They also show an 8K 88″ OLED. Metz 55S9A and 65S9A is a 4K OLED with fine tuned front facing speaker 1599€ for 55″ and 2499€ for 65″. Metz also has a mid-range Topas LCD in 4 sizes from 43″ at 699€ to 65″ at 1299€ with nice sound starting. The Metz blue brand runs Android TV OS, multi tuner at middle price and the Metz classic brand is at the premium price range with German final assembly with fine-tuned German front facing audio and other finishings such as built-in hard drive dual channel 1TB DVR recording, bluetooth, nice remote controller of the TV made in Germany. Metz Fineo 43″ and Fineo 49″ with 112 and 160 local dimming included. Metz is selling mostly in Switzerland, Austria and Germany. They also sell in Italy, Spain, planning to start up selling more in other countries in Europe. They sell at specialized dealers retail stores only not online, with long term support.

Hisense shows their amazing new A5 E Ink Android phone with a 5.8″ E Ink HD+ display, to be sold around €100 or $100 in the near future, they have slightly modified and optimized Android for use with an E Ink display. They claim it can do 10 days of battery life depending on how much the front light is being used and how much the phone is used. It runs Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 (or something like that, not sure which one exactly). Hisense also optimized Android for dual display, after the A6 which they released previously now they also have the A6L which is somewhat improved. Their swipe up from bottom left shows the “Flip to the other side” option that resumes the Android frame on the other display. I have filmed many E Ink phones 6 and 7 years ago here:

Paul Gray, display analyst at IHS Markit, offer us a state of the display industry overview, as Hisense shows their amazing 8K Dual Layer LCD technology, featuring Nanosys Quantum Dots for amazing color, amazing HDR performance, with potentially better performance, higher nits brigthness then OLED and potentially much cheaper. The Hisense 65″ Dual Layer LCD currently sells at about $2500 (less then 20,000rmb) in China. Pricing of these UPED XD could woon get much lower, with 75″ ULED XD 8K hopefully comming to the market at below $3000 next year.
