$65 Merrii A31 Quad Core Hummingbird Development Board


The A20 Hummingbird Development Board was introduced last November by Merrii, compared with that, the new A31 Quad Core Hummingbird Board has better performance. The A31 Hummingbird Development System is a mini board based on A31, there are two USB hosts, an OTG, a Gigabit Ethernet as well as line in and HDMI HD video output. Support VGA, CVBS input, MIPI interface, these parts are all integrated on the motherboard which is only slightly larger than a A5 paper. It has all the basic functions of a PC when connect TV and keyboard, such as spreadsheets, word processing, play games and HD videos etc.

Topwise Broadcom BCM23550 Phones/Tablets, Spreadtrum SC7715 cheapest 3G phone in the world


Topwise uses IPS + OGS Touch Panels for high-end, 5″ qHD/720p/FHD using the Broadcom BCM23550 Quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 with Broadcom’s VideoCore425 GPU. Broadcom comes with dual-WiFi 5Ghz and using Broadcom’s modem. Topwise also shows the 3G single-core Spreadtrum SC7715 single-core ARM Cortex-A7, perhaps the cheapest 3G phone in the world. Topwise ships 800K phones per month with more than 1300 people in their factory. They also have the EDGE Spreadtrum SC6925C single core ARM Cortex-A5. Topwise also uses Broadcom BCM23550 in their 3G dual-sim Tablet with 1024×600 IPS 1GB/8GB. Broadcom thus here shows with Topwise how they are trying to aggressively compete with MediaTek for the entry-level Smartphone market, providing strong multi-core performance with some advanced SoC features integrated.

Shenzhen Sunchip shows their RK3288 based HDMI Stick and Set-top-box PCB, the hardware is ready, they just need another month or so for the software to be ready and optimized. We’re talking Quad-core ARM Cortex-A17 (according to Rockchip and posters), Mali-T674 GPU. Sunchip sells about 30K HDMI Sticks and Set-top-boxes per month.
