E Ink showcased its latest color e-paper technologies and ecosystem partner integrations at InfoComm 2026. Pete Laganados, President and Managing Director of E Ink in Europe, highlighted the company’s transition into full-color displays and large-area advertising signage. Unlike traditional light-emitting digital signs, E Ink’s ambient display technologies reflect light to mimic the appearance of printed paper, providing a highly sustainable communication medium that eliminates light pollution.

HDMI® Technology is the foundation for the worldwide ecosystem of HDMI-connected devices; integrated with displays, set-top boxes, laptops, audio video receivers and other product types. Because of this global usage, manufacturers, resellers, integrators and consumers must be assured that their HDMI® products work seamlessly together and deliver the best possible performance by sourcing products from licensed HDMI Adopters or authorized resellers. For HDMI Cables, consumers can look for the official HDMI® Cable Certification Labels on packaging. Innovation continues with the latest HDMI 2.2 Specification that supports higher 96Gbps bandwidth and next-gen HDMI Fixed Rate Link technology to provide optimal audio and video for a wide range of device applications. Higher resolutions and refresh rates are supported, including up to 12K@120 and 16K@60. Additionally, more high-quality options are supported, including uncompressed full chroma formats such as 8K@60/4:4:4 and 4K@240/4:4:4 at 10-bit and 12-bit color.

The company demonstrated E Ink Prism 3, a color-changing, direct-drive active matrix film designed for dynamic architectural features and custom consumer products. Ecosystem partner Seekink utilized the Prism 3 film to construct tiled color-changing wall displays suitable for stadiums, hotels, and universities. Additionally, Monterrey, Mexico-based Cream Guitars integrated custom Prism 3 displays with specialized cover lenses and cutouts into handmade electric guitars, enabling dynamic color-changing aesthetics.

For indoor retail environments, E Ink exhibited the Spectra 6 full-color film, which is available in sizes ranging from 4 inches to 31.2 inches. Chinese partner New Face builds complete digital signage around this Spectra 6 platform, offering a print-quality digital alternative to temporary paper signs. For public transit, ecosystem partner Mercury Innovation demonstrated ruggedized outdoor signs deployed for the Boston transport system (MBTA). These off-grid, solar-powered systems utilize 13.3-inch E Ink Carta displays to deliver real-time transit information without grid connections, offering features like push-button audio and adjustable font sizes.

The booth featured E Ink Marquis, a full-color outdoor signage platform currently in development. Utilizing a cyan, yellow, magenta, and white electrophoretic particle system, E Ink Marquis operates in temperatures from -20 to +60 degrees Celsius without requiring active heating or cooling. The platform supports modular tiling, as shown in a column totem using 40.5-inch panels, as well as a standalone 55-inch display designed for airports and transit hubs. The Marquis switching process moves colored particles in an electric field to change content, drawing power only during updates and winning the Best of Digital Signage award at the event.

Finally, E Ink demonstrated its Kaleido 3 color e-paper platform, which applies a color filter over a standard black-and-white Carta screen. This integration allows for faster refresh rates, supporting animation and video playback at up to 12 frames per second. Ecosystem partner Agile Display integrated the Kaleido 3 platform with a built-in front light for low-light visibility. The system executes a global screen clear in approximately 800 milliseconds, providing an efficient alternative for public information displays requiring quick updates.
