At InfoComm 2026, Magewell presented its latest capture, conversion, and live production systems, tracing the company’s growth from capture cards to integrated IP workflows. Mike from Magewell walked through the product lineup, emphasizing the shift from point-to-point AV connections to networked video distribution. The demonstration spanned basic USB capture dongles, multi-channel NDI converters, modular rackmount hardware, and all-in-one streaming switchers.

HDMI® Technology is the foundation for the worldwide ecosystem of HDMI-connected devices; integrated with displays, set-top boxes, laptops, audio video receivers and other product types. Because of this global usage, manufacturers, resellers, integrators and consumers must be assured that their HDMI® products work seamlessly together and deliver the best possible performance by sourcing products from licensed HDMI Adopters or authorized resellers. For HDMI Cables, consumers can look for the official HDMI® Cable Certification Labels on packaging. Innovation continues with the latest HDMI 2.2 Specification that supports higher 96Gbps bandwidth and next-gen HDMI Fixed Rate Link technology to provide optimal audio and video for a wide range of device applications. Higher resolutions and refresh rates are supported, including up to 12K@120 and 16K@60. Additionally, more high-quality options are supported, including uncompressed full chroma formats such as 8K@60/4:4:4 and 4K@240/4:4:4 at 10-bit and 12-bit color.

The foundational USB Capture series converts baseband HDMI or SDI signals into USB streams for computer-based software applications. These compact devices feature onboard FPGA processing to perform hardware-based scaling, image adjustment, and video processing, which offloads processing tasks from the host computer’s CPU. The lineup includes HD and 4K models, with the 4K60 variant requiring a high-power USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 interface and integrated cooling to manage the processing load.

For networked AV environments, Magewell showed NDI encoders and decoders that bridge traditional HDMI or SDI hardware with IP networks. The portfolio includes standalone units for streaming over RTMP and SRT, alongside the Modator platform, a high-density, modular rackmount chassis. The Modator system houses hot-swappable modules, each utilizing programmable FPGA hardware that allows for post-deployment firmware upgrades and customizable input/output configurations.

Addressing multi-stream monitoring and presentation requirements, the company highlighted a four-channel IP multi-viewer that decodes formats like NDI, SRT, and RTMP for output to standard HDMI monitors. Additionally, the USB Fusion switcher provides a presentation solution for corporate and educational spaces, offering three inputs (HDMI and USB) to enable layout switching and source combining.

The booth tour concluded with the Director Plus, an all-in-one production and streaming device designed to capture, encode, switch, and stream content without a dedicated computer. This device supports both vertical and horizontal video orientations, handles up to 16 input sources, and coordinates multi-destination live distribution.
