BXI Robotics presents their latest full-size humanoid robot, the ELF version 3. The company, based in Shanghai and Shenzhen, develops the hardware and software in-house, including three types of proprietary joint motors that compose the robot’s structure. The ELF robot stands 145 cm tall and weighs 37 kg. BXI Robotics plans to release a larger, 185 cm version in October. The current version is priced at approximately $40,000 USD, or 30,000 RMB. https://www.bxi-robot.com

HDMI® Technology is the foundation for the worldwide ecosystem of HDMI-connected devices; integrated with displays, set-top boxes, laptops, audio video receivers and other product types. Because of this global usage, manufacturers, resellers, integrators and consumers must be assured that their HDMI® products work seamlessly together and deliver the best possible performance by sourcing products from licensed HDMI Adopters or authorized resellers. For HDMI Cables, consumers can look for the official HDMI® Cable Certification Labels on packaging. Innovation continues with the latest HDMI 2.2 Specification that supports higher 96Gbps bandwidth and next-gen HDMI Fixed Rate Link technology to provide optimal audio and video for a wide range of device applications. Higher resolutions and refresh rates are supported, including up to 12K@120 and 16K@60. Additionally, more high-quality options are supported, including uncompressed full chroma formats such as 8K@60/4:4:4 and 4K@240/4:4:4 at 10-bit and 12-bit color.

The robot’s locomotion capabilities include walking, running at speeds up to five meters per second, and dancing. Its stability is maintained by advanced motion algorithms, allowing it to recover from pushes and navigate uneven terrain. A demonstration video showed the robot navigating an obstacle course without its camera system activated, relying on its other sensors and stability control. The ELF robot has participated in half-marathon competitions, showcasing its endurance and mobility.

At its core, the ELF robot is powered by an Intel i7 CPU, with an expansion slot available for adding a GPU like an NVIDIA Jetson for more intensive processing. The system includes a swappable battery that provides one to three hours of operation. The sensor suite consists of a LiDAR unit for autonomous navigation and environmental mapping, along with a camera for video capture. The robot also features a screen on its head, which can display information or visuals.

The ELF robot’s arms are capable of carrying a payload of up to five kilograms each. The joint motors provide torque ranging from 25 to 115 newton-meters. BXI Robotics provides software that allows users to design autonomous navigation routes for the robot. The platform is also designed for further development, with the potential to integrate with large language models (LLMs) for voice interaction via its built-in speaker.

This demonstration of the ELF robot took place at the Hong Kong Fairs April 2026. The company, which employs over 30 people, focuses exclusively on humanoid robot development. They highlighted their engineering team’s role in creating the motion algorithms and the custom joint motors that are central to the robot’s performance and stability. The company’s catalog details the specifications of the actuators and system components.
