CableEZ manufactures cable retention and strain-relief wall plates designed to keep AV connections secure and prevent damage to cables and equipment. Jeremy from CableEZ demonstrated the company’s pass-through products at InfoComm 2026, showing how the system eliminates physical stress on connector points regardless of cable type or installation environment.

HDMI® Technology is the foundation for the worldwide ecosystem of HDMI-connected devices; integrated with displays, set-top boxes, laptops, audio video receivers and other product types. Because of this global usage, manufacturers, resellers, integrators and consumers must be assured that their HDMI® products work seamlessly together and deliver the best possible performance by sourcing products from licensed HDMI Adopters or authorized resellers. For HDMI Cables, consumers can look for the official HDMI® Cable Certification Labels on packaging. Innovation continues with the latest HDMI 2.2 Specification that supports higher 96Gbps bandwidth and next-gen HDMI Fixed Rate Link technology to provide optimal audio and video for a wide range of device applications. Higher resolutions and refresh rates are supported, including up to 12K@120 and 16K@60. Additionally, more high-quality options are supported, including uncompressed full chroma formats such as 8K@60/4:4:4 and 4K@240/4:4:4 at 10-bit and 12-bit color.

The core product line includes single-gang and two-gang wall plate configurations. The system is entirely passive with no mechanical, retractable, or electronic components. Cables pass through the device freely, and the strain relief is handled at the wall plate rather than at the display or source connector. During the demonstration, a 30-pound dumbbell was suspended from a cable to illustrate that no force applied at the front of the plate transfers stress to the connector at the display or transmitter input.

CableEZ does not manufacture or sell cables. The wall plates are compatible with virtually any cable that fits through the pass-through opening, including USB, HDMI, microphone cables, active optical cables, and other common AV connectivity. This allows integrators to use whichever cable brand or type they prefer for a given installation.

The faceplates are flat panels that can be customized with different finishes, including wood grain, and can be cut to accommodate additional connectors or controllers. Mounting to displays uses 3M VHB high-bond tape, which creates a permanent adhesive attachment when properly applied. Typical deployment scenarios include dance studios, gyms, classrooms, and other active environments where cables are vulnerable to accidental pulls, trips, or disconnection.

The installation process involves securing the wall plate with screws, routing the cable through the pass-through, and connecting one end to the display and the other to the source. Once installed, the cable cannot be accidentally disconnected or removed without unscrewing the wall plate, ensuring that connections remain intact and ready for use in high-traffic installations.
