PrintoCent Innovation Center commercializes the research results of Printed Intelligence and Optical Measurements. Application focus areas in PrintoCent range from rapid disposable diagnostics, smart flexible lighting and wearables to Internet-of-Things with sensors and energy harvesting. With the multitude of possibilities there are great opportunities to new type of products and to disrupt existing value chains in all industries. Filmed at the IDTechEx Show!
ITRI is the Industrial Technology Research Institute in Taiwan which is one of the world’s leading technology R&D institutions aiming to innovate a better future for society. ITRI shows their solution for controlling Flexible OLED lighting. OLED Lighting offers more natural and more vibrant lighting than conventional lighting. ITRI also shows their sensors which are for example used in shoe pads which generate electricity. ITRI's Intelligent Vision Robot plays chess seeing all the chess pieces on the board and moving them around. I play a quick game of chess against the robot which sadly I had to concede to the Chess Playing Robot Turk because I didn't have enough battery in my camera (I think).
Nano Dimension Ltd is focused on the research and development of advanced 3D printed electronics, including a 3D printer for multilayer printed circuit boards (PCB's), and the development of nanotechnology-based conductive and dielectric inks, which are complementary products for 3D printers. Enabling Trillions of ARM processors to be made cheaply to be embedded everywhere as envisioned by ARM owner Masayoshi Son, PlasticARM is an implementation of an ARM Cortex-M0 based 32-bit microprocessor SoC in plastic. Using PragmatIC’s technology, the flexible integrated circuit (FlexIC) is implemented in thin film metal oxides on a polymer substrate, with a total thickness of less than 10um. The latest version uses a 1um cell library, delivering a 10x improvement in footprint over the last 2 years, and significantly advancing the state-of-the-art in printed logic. PlasticARM demonstrates the potential for PragmatIC’s ultra-thin and ultra-low-cost plastic electronics to extend from smart packaging into areas such as wearables and security. You can read more about PragmatIC at http://pragmaticprinting.com This video was filmed at the IDTechEx Show!

Startup company TriDInnov provides additive metallization for plastic and composite materials electronic packaging, is linked through a closed partnership with equipment manufacturer Kelenn Technology, launching the new Kelenn Technology DMD 100, an off-contact digital dispenser which deposits the TDI thick film formulation EOPROM (primer formulation for metallization process) showcasing their prototype circuits which have been manufactured with the DMD 100, depositing their EOPROM thick film formulation on molded device. TriDInnov's technology brings to the electronic packaging market a new manufacturing process which reposition the MID towards new business areas such as to add value on composite materials especially in the automotive area. They are to invest in a technology platform in order to manufacture MID prototypes circuits for their customers in order to push their technology acceptance on the market place. Flex (formerly known as Flextronics) is the world's second largest global electronics manufacturing services (EMS), original design manufacturer (ODM) company by revenue, after Foxconn to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Headquartered in Singapore and has manufacturing operations in over 40 countries, totaling approximately 200,000 employees.
KIMS project group consisting of Korea Institute of Materials Science (KIMS), Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials (KIMM), Jinwoo Textile Co. Ltd., and Alink Co. Ltd. is established for developing industrial production systems of highly conductive textiles and thin films which are applicable to flexible and wearable electronics. Filmed at the IDTechEx show.
AsReader is an advanced RFID reader/writer or Barcode scanner for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, with Android device also supported. AsReader GUN Type is a long range UHF RFID reader and can read a tag from 10m away with 1W output power and linearly-polarized wave. AsReader GUN supports European frequency and passed CE standard as well as FCC and TELEC in Japan. It works with a smartphone by connecting to the reader with AsRing+ and start to scan tags and barcodes. AsRing+ connects an external device to a smartphone magnetically and enables the devices to transfer data and power charging. AsReader Gun Type also has the barcode scanner and supports 1D and 2D barcodes. Although the barcode is poorly printed or has some scratches, AsReader will often scan them correctly with high-sensitive 2D CMOS sensor. With laser aiming light, one can scan the target barcode at far place easily. AsReader supports major barcode types, such as UPC/EAN/JAN, GS1 DataBar, Code 39, Code 128, PDF417, GS1 Composite, Aztec Code, Data Matrix, QR code, popular postal code and OCR font, OCR-A and OCR-B. You can also watch my previous Asreader video filmed at the IDTechEx show here.
