Schumacher Electric Co. is cooperating with Motorola to create Modular Power System. The technology is developed by Schumacher and licensed by Motorola The power system uses aluminum Lithium ion batteries. Motorola-branded batteries promise a 50-percent increase in performance when jump-starting a car, hold their charge up to 25 percent longer than standard lithium power cells, and retain 85 percent of their capacity at temperatures as low as -58 degrees F., the company reported.

CAP-XX is a leader in supercapacitors that deliver peak power to support or replace batteries, announced at the IDTechEx Show! Berlin 2018 that it has developed the industry’s first 3V thin, prismatic supercapacitors. The company will deploy its 3V technology first in thin prismatic form to meet demand for small, inexpensive, energy-efficient power solutions for thin wearables, key FOBs and other IoT devices. At the IDTechEx Show, IDTechEx Technology Analyst Dr Lorenzo Grande discusses battery innovation with Dr Giuseppe Antonio Elia, senior researcher at the Technical University of Berlin. Dr Elia is an expert in unconventional battery chemistries, like lithium-air, aluminium-sulphur, and magnesium-ion batteries.
