Cookening is a platform that allows users to connect with people from different cultures by attending or hosting home-cooked meals. The startup provides a unique opportunity for travelers to experience authentic, local cuisine in the city they’re visiting, and for the hosts to meet new people. Cédric Giorgi’s initial thoughts started 2 years ago and some time later Cookening got founded.
Hosts are free to cook any meal they want to, but they first have to create a dashboard that includes information from their profile, photos of dishes they have cooked before, a list of the dishes that will be included (appetizer, main course, dessert, etc.), the location and photos of their home, and the cost of the meal.
Travelers can easily search available meals by the city that they are visiting. Once they find a meal, they can book it right on the Cookening website through its secure payment system, or message the host to find out more information. Cooks can respond to the messages and then choose to accept or decline a request. After the meal, hosts and guests can write a review to let users know about the experience they had through Cookening.

Optinvent is a technology hardware designer company that is working on a augmented reality and smart wearables like glasses.
Optinvent ORA is the smart glasses device that Optinvent is working on at the moment. The ORA feels fairly well built and has a number of design features that are intended to make it usable for all types of workers in various industries. ORA glasses have mounting points for prescription lenses. The Optinvent ORA is powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and features a very small-screen version of Google’s operating system. The device is controlled using the touchpad, which moves a cursor.
The glasses have an arm that moves up and down, which can place the display directly in the user’s eyeline or just below it for quick glances. What that “True AR” mode effectively amounts to is a tilting display, one that can sit just below your eye-level for a “dashboard view” of incoming messages and other notifications, or moved right into your field of vision if you plan on going full-RoboCop. Google’s Glass by comparison always places onscreen information above your eye-line.
Other specs include an eye-searing 3,000 nits brightness level, an ambient light sensor, a rechargeable battery good for between 4 and 8 hours of usage and a display that when positioned right in front of your eyes is the equivalent of having an 85-inch TV dangling off your face. The battery is said that will last three hours with intensive use or eight hours with typical use. The Optinvent ORA price starts at €699.
Optinvent is based in Rennes, France and Silicon Valley, United States.

Heres’ a thousand Android developers at the Nokia X Android Developer conference, Nokia providing quick tools to port all Android apps over to using the Nokia Services for Maps, Notifications and Payments, with Nokia supporting payment in emerging markets through operator billing, available in 60 countries with over 161 operators. Most people in these markets don’t have credit cards, making it the only method of payment.
All Android app developers are invited by Nokia to change a few things (swaping Google services with Nokia services) to submit all Android apps in the Nokia Android App Store. For now Nokia is avoiding to try to support the Google Mobile Services (GMS), and instead requires that all Android apps be ported to Nokia’s Services for Location using Nokia Here Maps instead of Google Maps, for Notifications also going through Nokia Notifications system instead of the Google Notifications system and then for in-app payments Nokia has its own non-Google payment system that app developers are required to use if they want their apps to work on Nokia X Android Store.
