DJI showcased its latest gimbal and integrated camera system at NAB 2026. Donovan Davis, Senior Product Specialist, introduced the RS5 gimbal featuring fine-tuning knobs on all axes, an electronic briefcase handle with full gimbal control and mode controls, and Teflon-coated axes for smoother balancing. The RS5 delivers a 20% peak torque increase over the previous generation, supporting a 6.6-pound weighted payload rating for standard camera setups. The new intelligent tracking module uses an AI engine to track people, animals, vehicles, or any user-selected object via palm-gesture activation, with green LED confirmation and two-finger gestures for start/stop recording. Magnetic mounting allows quick removal and reattachment for lower profile use. The combo kit at $719 includes the gimbal, quick-open tripod, quick release plates, lens fastening support, camera control cable, briefcase handle, battery grip, and intelligent tracking module, backed by DJI Care’s two-year replacement warranty covering up to four incidents. DJI also demonstrated its integrated 8K full-frame RAW camera with built-in stabilization, Z-axis footstep compensation, advanced LiDAR autofocus with an included focus motor, and support for E-mount and PL mount lenses. The camera runs over an hour on a single battery and integrates DJI’s long-range transmission module, controllable via master wheels, joystick controllers, or kinetic control. This system was used to shoot the feature film Warfare and Netflix’s Adolescence, which was filmed entirely in one continuous take.
