$74 Boxchip A10 HDMI stick

This Boxchip based HDMI stick has been talked about over the past couple weeks on some blogs under the names MK802, Zero Devices Z802 etc. The Bill of Materials for this device might be as low as $20 but it’s being sold at around $70 at retail at the moment. This stuff is great! But it would be even more interesting to me (and others) if the manufacturer(s) would support the user communities in hosting other Linux distros on these devices — rather than just leaving it for everyone to figure out on their own. If you ever get the chance to ask those sorts of questions, please do!

It has a very common CPU (Cortex A8) and GPU (Mali-400). This GPU has an open source driver stack, so it must be the easiest one to port to several distributions.

Darren and Marc: With the Allwinner A10 CPU you can insert a microSD card with Ubuntu, Debian or other Linux distribution and have yourself a Linux PC

this 1.2ghz Allwinner A10/cortexA8? (Its mass-volume price is around $7) dual is fine for what it is but id rather pay the extra $22 MVP for the Freescale 1.2ghz i.MX6 Quad SOC with these Allwinner specs today/2012 and pay $100 retail or something if they ever get around to adding that Freescale i.MX6 Quad SOC into their product lines.

Hi. Im unable to find this information anywhere. Do those Android Sticks (like the MK802 or U802) work together with 3g USB modems? where i want to use the stick, there’s no wifi and I would like to get it connected to mobile internet through plugging in the mobile internet to its usb ?
Could anyone confirm its possible ? I already tried one stick (in Poland) and its not recognized. Been trying with Huaiwei E173 modem.
