If you need it u can contact [email protected] with 1 year warranty.. it is awesome device and right now I post this message while using it. Very good performance 🙂
]]>Sure I’m not saying it’s perfect, but it’s impressive for the price. I’ve used the Allwinner A64 based Remix mini with 1GB RAM for 1 month as my main desktop computer and it is fantastic I could pretty much do anything I need with it. So this one should be even better. For sure it will also be awesome to see Remix on more powerful ARM Cortex-A72 based SoCs, once those are available for the TV Box market. And that is also why I hope we soon see Remix run off phones that have more powerful processors, to enable “Android Continuum” so when the phone is docked to a desktop dock or laptop dock then the Remix UI is on the external display. This is something that I wish that my ARM Cortex-A72 based Huawei Mate 8 was able to do.
]]>Thanks for the answer, but it’s very relative answer. I need to see hard comparison with Snapdragon to get a basic idea how much productivity or media consumption can be pulled off from this device. I am not a heavy user and I don’t have unrealistic expectations but I am always interested to know what am I getting back for my money.
]]>AmLogic is kind of like the leading SoC manufacturer for the Android TV Box market. I think that the benchmarks are going to be well above the Allwinner A64 Remix mini. I think S905 has faster CPU, faster GPU, faster memory bandwidth, faster RAM, faster Wi-Fi, possibly also faster video performance.
]]>A generally unknown SoC manufacturer is my main deal breaker here, unless the team post some solid benchmarks for a budget device, I see this as a very risky investment. For most people spending 45$ is a way to get a taste of RemixOS, rather than a usable device that’d stick as a daily driver in whatever niche of media consumption or productivity they have.
]]>The shipping is DHL registered parcel from China to anywhere in the world, it may be a bit more expensive but it’s reliable and fast. And the 2GB RAM has slightly higher shipping cost because they process and ship that one 1 month earlier than the 1GB RAM. If you order 10 pieces in a box, and you resell them or share them, then the shipping price per device may be below $9 or something like that.
]]>I convinced Unuiga and the Remix team to work together to do this on the Amlogic S905, and I suggested to Unuiga I could setup the campaign on Indiegogo for them. I get a commission if it’s successful and my colleague Gennie in Shenzhen will have to make sure everyone gets their device if it’s successful before the money is transferred to Unuiga. If the goal is not reached or if there is any issue, then everyone can get refunded.
