Pretty good I hope somebody adopters that idea like hardkernel odroid company it will be the HDMI stick I little bulky but who cares. So what about gigabit LAN Ethernet port for stable Internet connection or dual band wifi with external antenna. We do really need the extra cooling for overclocking even in those mini pc close to your tv you don’t heard nothing. I tell you the galaxy s4 you can feel the phone it’s pretty warn and my t428 with a pretty cheap passive heat sink its a little hot with custom rom

thank you for your comment greg you can go to ebay or amazon and type sata to compact flash and you have a lot designs to choose from. And yes they are still here.
Anon and maventwo i liked your comments and I want to know your opinion about the storage issue.

maventwo thank you for your insight in the new technologies for cooling, i was surprised that someone could invent something diferent from the status quo that exists now.

They should use atheros chips for Wifi instead of the crappy wifi chip they are using.

Hi Alex. First thank you for your insights and post. I had a flashback when viewing your images of an old product I bought (roughly, 10 years ago!) which of course is quite obsolete now — a CF sized hard disk from IBM. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microdrive) for a similar engineering project I was noodling with. Fun to think about the size/speed/capability that these would be today if IBM/others would have stuck with this form factor. Cheers //GH

But will not the development towards 3D IC need some kind of cooling
especially in such compact device as Hdmi TV dongles or smartphones,phablets or tablets.
But future fans will not use an electric spinning motor for movement
of cooling air.
GE have developed a piezo electric fan.

1- wifi : not a problem in the future
2 – audio jack : useless in my opinion but could be done easily
3 – a fan : really not needed, those things have a really low TDP and being a little hot is not really a problem except maybe for really low build quality.
4 – usb 3 : will be done when the SoC implements it, probably planned for the next generation.

Seriously why do you want a fan ! This is not some x86 radiator, you seem to be conditionned by your experience with bulky, noisy and hot desktop computer. Like those guys who did a rasberry pi watercooler, it’s just ridiculous. As far as I know ARM SoC have never been designed so as to need a fan (expect maybe in servers).
