Intel commersials where Fellow researcher Mark Bohr have spoken about that the Foundry-model can´t compete with their model with Fabs which Intel owns (in Intel`s own demagogy).

But it will be just opposite (opposite to Intel´s demagogy) forthcoming years when 2,5D and 3D components in the semiconducting industry will be made with totally integration of SoC and RAM
and other solid memories and other components in same little stacked component.

Because in 2,5D and 3D components development is fitting the Foundry-model very well where the different developers will co-work for making their different components and different parts of components such as baseband modems or BSI-cam sensors with faster solid memories as for instance ReRAM.

Korean company Besang have very illustrated webpages about 3D components and the difficulties with TSV which is coming with 3D components integration.

Corning have developed Optic USB 3.0 solution!

Which is a cheaper solution because it is optic/electric, where the electric data signals
is transmitted to optical signals and vise versa.

Having used both Thunderbolt and USB 3.0, I don’t know if Thunderbolt is proprietary but it would be too bad if it went away, as it supports bundling all kinds of other connections on top, like USB, display, power, etc. By comparison, USB 3.0 just makes USB faster, which has been very nice when moving large files, but is just one added benefit. Instead, I hope they open up Thunderbolt and make it a real competitor for USB 3.0.

Intel sold their own ARM-based risc-processor design strongARM as they had aquired from DEC in 1997,strongARM or XScale was sold to Marvell in 2006, so Intel have done their own mistakes in the risc-based developed processors.

All new tech gadgets and development from Intel is not propritary even if most of them is!

Think on OpenCV which Intel have given to the Open Source world!

Think if Intel could be member of the HSA Foundation (without trying to dominate this poly-co-work i SoC design and development)!

But Intel hegemony will end forthcoming years if they won´t try to be not so dominating against other semiconducting companies worldwide!
