Kaveri will improve IPC, but it will probably still be behind Haswell, it will also probably have higher power consumption. For High-resolution gaming on the IGP on the other hand, it should be a lot better with GDDR5.

I’ll be waiting to see how good Kaveri is with GDDR5 memory. However I still think Intel will have better IPC and power consumption.

So, I imagine you’ll be waiting for Kaveri for your next upgrade then.

Even if the top of the range Iris performs better than expected and comes close to a 650M, take very careful note that Intel made no promises about what resolutions it will be able to run at and keep up with the 650M.
If you think Iris will be better at high resolutions then you have a hell of a lot to learn about memory bandwidth and high resolution gaming.

The Iris will be as powerful as the Nvidia Geforce GT650M which is enough for 4K gaming at moderate settings not the uber high that Stupid power hogging gamers like yourself use.

Even top of the range Iris will still be miles behind discreet cards, which is important if you want very high res.

I thought as much. Nah Intel’s iris graphics will do nicely!!!

Sounds like you really need a discreet graphics card if you want to power a 4k display.

Looks are important but an AMD gamer like you would know nothing of it!!!

I see, you’re more interested in how your computer looks than how the games you play look.

However All in ones look so much better. I am waiting for a decently priced 4k display all in one PC.

If you’re so interested in games you should get a discreet graphics card though and skip the all-in-one.

Not a bad idea and Intel Haswell will rule with all in one PC’s.

Everyone hates the web? I didn’t know. I thought over 2 Billion people use and love the web and I thought they all mostly don’t use any other app than the web. The web is the biggest and most awesome app that humans have ever created. A company that can’t function on the web is losing out.

But web applications are trash and everyone hates them.

Wishful thinking that $199 ARM Cortex A15 big little which uses WAY TOO MUCH POWER. $99 subsidized IS WORTHLESS!!!! Web is NOT THE FUTURE Local Programs are still important and google Chrome OS HAS ZERO OF THOSE!!!!

Millions of current Chrome OS users in enterprise and in education would disagree with you about it being useless. It’s very useful for them. Chrome OS is very useful for me. I’m only looking forward to it being even more secure, even easier to use, even faster and even cheaper. All the while HTML5/native/webgl being more powerful to provide faster web apps with stronger offline/accelerated support. $199 ARM big.LITTLE Chromebooks with 20h battery life (preferably with Pixel Qi LCDs) and full Trustonic/Trustzone security to replace all online passwords for super fast security, those ARM Chromebooks could even be sold $99 subsidized by the end of the year.

If is useless can you explain me why most of the chromebooks are most of the time out of stock?
