Very few apps uses 8 cores let alone 4 cores. Most games 2 cores at most.

No because anandtech’s review of Google chrome book should tell you what you need to know. Dual core Arm cortex a-15 Chromebook uses 12 watts compared to the much older atom based Chromebook which one used 15 watts. ARM is supposed to be about low power usage but ARM Cortex A-15 broke that model INTO PIECES. If Intel plays their cards right ARM IS IN A LOT OF TROUBLE Not to mention MIPS which has the lower power usage I seen to date.

Yeah, that’s why I said that I hope they implement the full specification (Linux and Linux apps are more than capable to feed 8 cores). I want to see this SoC on an Ubuntu station.

Big.LITTLE has different operating modes, on MP mode all cores can run simultaneously.

Big.LITTLE architecture has been designed specifically to save power. Give them some credit.

That won’t happen because both set of quad cores have completely different uses. One is for Max battery life and the other for Max performance.
