Interesting interview. I wonder if Charbax can tell us what phones were those at Rockchip stand. I haven’t seen any Rockchip modern phones ( with at least Android 4.0) so I am really curious about the make and model.
I currently own a tablet with a Rockchip RK 3066 CPU and I can tell you it’s pretty fast. I wish to have a companion mobile phone as good as that tablet and at a competitive price.

In reply to monopole. Yes you're right but ARM Mail has terrible Linux support. No H/W 3D acceleration is a big no no in my book.

In reply to Jml. It all about the low end. Rockchip, AmLogic and Allwinner determine what the cheap tablet performance is. As the low end goes from "cheap" to "more than good" it sets the floor for development and deployment. When dirt cheap tablets/phones/TV Sticks get good enough things will get really interesting.

Surprising announcement. I wonder how does it compare to a 40nm quad cortex a7 from boxchip. Well, we will know in a few months. Yes, I know that this chip will be faster, but will we see cheap tablets coming for this chipset?
