Take anything from that site with a grain of salt, the writer (Charlie Demerjian) can be extremely biased in his reporting. Just for not getting a news scoop he’s been known to post rant articles against a company to the point of even using open insults.

He also apparently doesn’t like to get called on it as the comment system for that site has been disabled for quite awhile now. It didn’t help that they never retracted on posts that were obviously wrong.

AMD does have issues it has to deal with and they’ve been on a downward trend for awhile but we don’t know yet whether they’re in just a long lull period or in serious and possibly terminal trouble yet.

They do have some interesting plans going forward and hopefully they can recover over the next few years as it wouldn’t be good for Intel to be the only major x86 chip maker. We need competition and alternatives!

Though the move of ARM to 64bit goes a long way to providing a 3rd option and at the very least it increases AMD’s range of products.
