Suvolta have developed new gate tech for making it possible to make planar-transistors in cmos which works in sub 1volt.

Rockchip is fabless at Globalfoundries for their next-generation 28nm stuff, I guess they were at TSMC for their current RK2918 and RK3066. I’ve heard ARM talk about using Finfets 3D process designs for years, I filmed them talking about 14nm a couple years ago at ARM Techcon 2010:

Thus if Intel’s marketing around these terms is about them somehow claiming to have exclusivity on things like HKMG, FinFets, smaller nm process designs, that’s just not true, it’s that Intel does stuff for a much smaller market comparatively, sells these processors for much higher prices, maybe 20x higher prices, and that they consume unusable high amounts of power.

And Taiwanese TSMC is also developing FinFet-transistor.
So, it is only a matter of time before other ARM-licensers and ARM-based SoC processor makers also have developed FinFET transistors.

Is Rockcip making it´s own SoC-processors or is Rockchip like Qualcomm a fabless developer of ARM-based processors?
