Right. As far as I can see that’ll be $222 for my needs, including $30 shipping. Still, pretty good. Where are you located Charbax? I live in Denmark, and I’m afraid I’ll have to pay VAT on it when it enters my country. But I still think it’s a good price for a quad core board.

Consider $129 does not include all the cables, adapters, etc, I spent $254 to pre-order this system with all the cables and stuff that I think I need. You have to consider which platform you think is going to be best supported. I think Exynos4412 likely is going to get great support. But who knows, maybe this board isn’t going to get as much support as perhaps some other Exynos4412 board, I think it’ll be fine though, I dunno. I don’t know of cheaper Tegra3, i.MX6 or HiSilicon K3V2 boards, not yet.

 Do you have any experience with quad core A9 development boards? I’m looking for such a board now, but I don’t know what to settle on. My greatest concern isn’t really the hardware (though SATA and 64 bit wide RAM bus *would* be nice to have), it’s more the software that worries me. Ie. if some software errors in the Linux I run on the device will be present that I’m unable to solve myself. But $129 (plus shipping) is almost so cheap that I’m willing to take the chance.

yeah it looks like an industrial use type board, shame about the low clocks as its got a nice selection of generic ports too
1 x mPCIe ,1 x mPCIe/mSATA,1 x mPCIe for 3G (oboard SIM socket), haven’t they ever heard of generic and cheap mini PCI slots 😉

They may have reduced the frequency in order to operate in a larger temperature range, or possibly to extend the longevity of the board, since it’s probably aimed at embedded systems for the industry. This board should be expensive, it won’t be your $99 OUYA, or $129 ODROID-X. I don’t think Kontron sells to individuals.

I clicked on the link you posted Dddd but the terga 3 is only 900mhz Instead of 1.3Ghz that most smartphones and tablet with terga 3 are clocked at. I wonder what the terga 3 mini-itx board is priced at?

Between reading news, write blog posts, playing with software and a few other things, I don’t always have time to comment much.

Concerning CoSy, when I started writing about it, I thought I would find more interesting info. But it’s mainly for reference, it’s the company (ACE) product so it’s not free, it should even be quite expensive. It’s a system to develop compilers.

Hardkernel contacted me directly to post about their board, that’s why I could post earlier. Concerning links, that’s OK, it happens, especially since Google seems to have problem referencing my posts before some RSS aggregators.

im not sure the external extra RT5370 is a cost-effective, highly integrated USB Wi-Fi single chip containing an 802.11n MAC and baseband, a 2.4 GHz RF, PA, LNA and T/R switch on a single die.

It supports a 150 Mbps PHY addon was a good idea rather than put it directly on the carrier board, but i suppose that’s how they make up their profits from the addon’s there so its all cool.
