But Venkatesh Rao´s predictions about OLED, he have missed one important explanation of why OLED have take so long time too be manufactored and that is strong patents in polymer oleds
which prof.Sir.Richard Friend who is Cavendish Professor at Cambridge University in UK have had.
Prof.Sir.Richard Friends patents in polymer oleds expire at 4th of April 2010.
Richard Friend was one of three who was nominated to the Finnish Millenium Prize 2010.

Strong patents make big companies to rather wait to the patents will be expired than paying
license fees.

But oled have also have had big problems with blue polymer oleds to work in may 10 000 hours.
Blue polymer oleds have before very short time it could emit light, 5000 hours is not enough for oled displays.But now even blue oleds have longer lifetime even if red and green have lifetime over
100 000 hours.

OLEDs can be manufactored with Ink Jet printers on “Roll-to-roll” method and that will press oled displays in some years than flexible amoleds will be made on amorf polyamide substrate and graphene as TFT and electrode material (for multitouch capacitive displays) because todays ITO=Indium-Tenn-Oxide can´t fix on plastic substrate, it need glass as substrate.

Indium is a rare earth mineral so now when Indium in mixture with Tenn-oxide is used for making transparent electrodes for TFT in LCD-displays and as electrod material for kapacitive multitouch displays and for transparent electrodes in solar cells.
This rare earth mineral – Indium won´t last for so many years so makers must find another transparent electrode material that is also cheap.
And grapehene or some other grafite material will be a better electrode material than
a rare earth mineral like Indium.Because grafite materials is very cheap and can be fixed on many different substrate even flexible substrates.

OLEDs will in some years be much cheaper to make (especially when glass as substrate material can be replaced with flexible plastics like amorf polyamide) with larger Ink Jet printers and “Roll-to-roll” method like newsprint paper roll are made today.
