Pushing for Google to get involved is smart, they’re letting Apple have every technological milestone in the tablet arena and Apple isn’t even that pushy an innovator — if Google got a tablet maker to commit to this screen (assuming it’s as good as Pixel Qi says, I’ve seen videos and it doesn’t disappoint even though the products with it so far have underwhelmed) under a pilot program release, it could be huge news. I’m desperate for Pixel Qi to release in a product that’s worth purchasing to see how viable this technology is, hopefully some of that 3M investment will pay off soon. I’m trying to hold off upgrading my old tablet because I just didn’t get as much use out of it as I thought, sunlight-viewable screen technology is what I’m waiting for.
