They are shifting from Symbian to WP7, as they said a year ago, not meaning that they will stop making symbian phones NOW. And this technology has been in development for 5 YEARS, so it was natural to release it on the platform to where it has been designed to. It will take up to one year still to get PureView to WindowsPhone, I have heard… AND realising it now on a symbian phone will give them much information about this technology being used in everyday life, that will help them to improve PureView when released on a top WindowsPhone Lumia device.

And symbian still have up to 50% market share in many central asian countries or “just” are market leaders, but also eastern European countries, Afrika and South-America. In these countries it will take a long time to switch to WP as Symbian is so popular.

Nokias windows phones are at this moment released in 35 countries, out of 200+ countries where Nokias Symbian phones are sold.

So you come to the question: Why would Nokia not sell now top Symbian phones to customers who want them? Where WP is not even released yet.

Cant wait for a the Lumia PureView 41 mp camera 🙂 even if a Symbian Belle phone would be awsome too…. there is no mobile OS as open source as symbian 🙂 or maybe webOS and Meego…

So, why do they release this phone with 41 Megapixel sensor?
It seems more like desperate action from Nokia.

Instead of cam sensor with 41 Megapixel it would be better to introduce cam sensor
based on Harvard spin-off company SiOnyx technology to make silicon wafers surface darker
so cam sensors will be mush better to absorb wavelength in Infrared spectrum much better than todays cam sensors. With cam sensor that can absorb Infrared spectrum waves cams and mobile phones cams would not need any flashlight source (flash light takes a lot of current from the battery).
