As far as I remember some press releases, ARM Cortex A9 is even supposed to go to 2Ghz and quad-core thus maybe as much as 20'000 DMIPS already! It will be interesting to learn how ARM and its partners are going to improve on that.

Cortex A8 = 2,000 DMIPS @ 1.0GHz
Cortex A9 = 6,000 DMIPS @ 1.2GHz (Dual Core)
Cortex A9 = 12,000 DMIPS @ 1.2GHz (Quad Core)

If the Eagle (Cortex A10 most likely) hits only 12k DMIPS with quad cores I'll be sorely disappointed.

I suspect more like a range of clock speeds starting at 1GHz and progressing to 2GHz or maybe even more. Expect more IPC and with quad core to hopefully hit 25k+ DMIPS at a sensible 2GHz clock.

Really hoping that this chip @1.5GHz quad core would draw no more than 750mW and hit in the region of 20k DMIPS. Then we're talking double best current performance in about 2 to 3 years and still good battery usage. If they can also shut off cores and get power usage way down for most usage then I'll be a happy bunny.
