Posted by – July 12, 2014

MediaTek launches the Linkit platform called Aster MT2502, combining the MCU, PMIC, Bluetooth, Memory and Modem all into one chip. Lowering the power consumption, lowering the size, and even lowering the cost, MediaTek also introduces the Tiny System that kicks-in to standby mode on a lowered 26Mhz CPU frequency, down from a peak of 260Mhz that this MT2502 is designed to run at. When the Smartwatch is in use, it runs on RTOS Nucleus OS, running basic Smart functions with built-in Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy. Supports QVGA 320×240 displays only, MediaTek is working with all kinds of different display providers including also E Ink.
