About 512MB of RAM, it's actually plenty.  Android doesn't need much RAM to run, most apps use very little, and you're not likely to go crazy multi-tasking on a phone.  It really wasn't that long ago many of these devices had much less RAM than the newer models coming out now.  There are 1GHz systems from just last year that only offered 256MB of RAM for example. Really, it's not like you'll be running a desktop OS on any of these devices yet.  So system requirements are still pretty low. Check the Wiki for Snapdragon’s and scroll down to the part about “Issues”…
