Yup I think the trick with Electric cars is to look forward and not backwards. The countries implementing electric cars can install all the necessary wind, solar, thermal energy required to charge all these batteries. And they can install all that renewable energy at lower cost than coal (looking at wind, solar installations paying for themselves in less than 10 years once installed). Even if 100% of all new cars are electric, any country can easily keep up with building out wind, solar, thermal fast enough to power all these new cars. Cause in any ways, we are not going to power the old cars with electricity, only the new ones.

“100% clean renewable energy” ????

How many weapons and death to obtain uranium, how many Co2 to transport it, and finally, how many healthcare energy to sustain nuclear plants working people ?

electric motorbile and electric bycicle are since few years very interesting in China, but today, China produce energy mostly from carbon soil (several by city), water (good choice), wind (near sea) and has project to make most powerfull nuclear plant (worst choice). I hope China will continue to improeve renewal & direct energy as it makes with solar hot water (太阳能, solar powered), and in Europe we will use shuch solution (so good in China since few years).

Better place is not only battery change system, it is also charging via a cable at people’s homes, work places, outside large supermarkets and everywhere.

Nissan Leaf can be made to support the Better Place model, and frankly I don’t believe in the Nissan Leaf without a Better Place compatible swappable battery.

Better Place suggests having at least 2 charging connectors on each side of the car. Adding another charging connector on the other side of the car does not add much cost and allows to save nearly half the cost of building the re-charging network.

I don´t bealive in Better Place battery change system it is too complicated.

It must be much better to recharge via cabel at car parking at peoples work places, outside larger supermarkets and at home.

Nissan Leaf is an ideal elctric car even if the charging contact shall not be in front of the car (just think if the car will have a small crash and it won´t be possible to charge).

It is much better design if the charging contact is at the left side of the car especially infront of the drivers door.
