Yup, I think Chrome OS software on ARM will be key to bringing these to ARM Powered Laptops, even though Honeycomb is awesome on laptops that also have touch screens and even though Ubuntu 11.4 Netbook edition also is fantastic on ARM Powered laptops. To make the ARM powered laptop a true mass market success, it needs fully V8 optimized Chrome OS for ARM running on it.

What more can you recall about the 'Rockchip RK2918 A* 1.2GHz' laptop? He said it was already available but I assume that's only for orders of 1k or more.. It is indeed nice screen was 12 or 14 inch? Hopefully, we will begin to see arm netbooks, smartbook & laptops coming into the retail stores and online as well soon..

Thanks Charbax!!!

I don't know if I should call it NEC, Renesas or NEC/Renesas like I do now. I see some booths call it a NEC, others call it a Renesas, so for now I put that category up as NEC/Renesas, and perhaps I should try to read up more infos on what each of these chip providers provide today, what they have announced for their upcoming chips, to understand better how I should compare their performance.

Does anybody know where the ARM licences now lie between NEC and Renesas? Certainly NEC used to have an ARM 11 license.

Renesas presumably want to use their own Rx CPU's as much as possible in the future. Are the upcoming ARM products just temporary, or will they continue to use ARM for application processors, where they have a lot of experience?

Livall.cn had a poster at their booth featuring AH102, a NEC/Renesas ARM Cortex-A9 533Mhz Dual-Core Android Laptop: http://armdevices.net/2011/04/16/125-cortex-a9-dual-core-7-capacitive-tablet-by-livall-cn/

I got that exact poster in my room now, they allowed me to take their cool promotional posters when they were closing down the booth as everything would have been thrown out otherwise.

Malata showed me a piece of paper announcing the PC-B1002, Malata PC-B1301, Tegra2 Laptops. Malata makes most of the Tegra2 tablets today (other than the big brands, unless they also work for the big brands). They make for Viewsonic, Hannspree and other Tegra2 tablet brands, that is, as far as I guess. So it may be a big deal that they are also preparing Tegra2 laptops for Computex.

I filmed a Rockchip RK2918 ARM Cortex-A8 1.2Ghz Laptop video here: http://armdevices.net/2011/04/16/rockchip-rk2918-powered-laptop/ I've added this one to point 12.

I didn't feature the Malata or Livall.cn as laptops in the top-20 videos list because the Malata is just filming and talking about an unreleased product based on a piece of paper and the Livall.cn laptop is not discussed much in that video.

Interesting.. But, I'm more interested in the smartbooks/netbooks like the efixa mx & hercules ecafe. I was hoping that we could see some A8/9 1GHz netbooks making their debut, perhaps it's been overlooked? I'll browse the site and see if you did in fact get some vids for A8/9 netbooks/smartbooks
