Hahaha, not surprised the Archos tablets are at the top. Charbax, the Archos fanboy. Honestly, the stuff he says make him just like an Apple fanboy excepty it's with Archos.

I'd put the Galaxy Tab on top. It has the Google Market which also means it passed Googles Compatibility Test Suite making apps more likely to work. If it uses the same Hummingbird platform as the Galaxy S phone then it can play all those 720p and 1080p movies from the internet. I'd pay the extra for the features and quality. You get what you pay for. The Archos devices aren't just cheap in price.

Sure Archos could sell the 10.1" capacitive ARM Powered tablets at $199 with mass production too.

I just think big manufacturers like Toshiba should invest fully in ARM Powered laptops and sell them at significantly lower prices than netbooks, and they should go all the way and make sure the web browser experience is at least as good as on Intel Atom netbooks.

I believe Chrome browser should be added inside Android, and triple-boot into Chrome OS and Ubuntu would be great, Toshiba needs to announce support for that.

Thanks for this answer Charbax. I can understand your point of view better but I still think that the margins for the tablet will be better than for the laptop form factor here.

And I don't think the ARM laptop are directly competing against the Intel netbooks. The ARMs should be lighter, with longer battery lifes, no fans and that should be accepted as a trade-off against the loss of power compared to an Atom laptop.

Then I agree that an ARM laptop would be better with an Ubuntu choice rather than just Android.

Capacitive touch screen is more expensive than the Nvidia processor "upgrade". Also a laptop form factor can be made slightly less compact which also can save a bit of cost.

Archos tablets are competing with existing tablets on the market such as the iPad, and iPod Touch, thus in this regard Archos tablets are very good value for money.

The Toshiba AC-100 is in one way first to market, but in another way, it is competing with the 100 million Intel Atom powered netbooks that have been sold thus far. And in that regard, the ARM Powered laptops will have to be sold rather $199 than $299. And the software will have to feature full screen Chrome class web browsers with support for quick and unlimited amounts of tabs opened running full Javascripts and Flash applications.

Also, I expect from big companies like Toshiba to actually be able to lower cost as they should have the manufacturing capacity to manufacture many devices to lower the cost.

So the Toshiba AC-100 is more powerfull, with a keyboard and otherwise similarly speced as the Archos 101 but the Archos is cheap at 300$ while the Toshiba is expensive at 300$ ?

you are really an Archos fanboy :p

OK, I edited it to "12% wider screen surface (better for movies and TV shows)".

Archos is 29% larger than the iPad for watching 16:9 (1.78:1) content
Archos is 29% larger than the iPad for watching 16:9 (1.85:1) content
Archos is 26% larger than the iPad for watching 16:9 (2.35:1) content

Most of the movies and TV shows are in these formats.

Your info and or math is wrong. The ipad has an area of 45.24 sq inches and a 10.1 with a 16:9 ratio tablet has an area of 44 sq inches. See http://www.cavecreations.com/tv2.cgi for a useful comparison.
