Obviously Sony and Intel want to be part of anything Google does. The Google TV project is rumored to be Android based and open-source. Just like for Chrome OS, it means it will work on both ARM and Intel.

Too bad that Google pre-empted any speculation on using ARM by announcing Intel as one of their partners for the TV platform. To be honest with you, I was surprised to see Intel as one of the partners but perhaps there is more to developing hardware for set-top boxes than one might imagine.
